I’m Elaine Gonzalez, a visual artist based in Los Angeles. I use a variety of mediums and I am most drawn to fiber, textiles and oil painting.

I create images that converge bold shapes, colors and ideas, often using the human figure, typography and materiality to convey a sense of place.

My work explores identity through the depiction and use of clothing and textile surfaces, which function as markers of personal and cultural history.

While my work is personal, it is not only about myself. I view art as a space where individual and collective voices intersect. Through imagery and material choices, I attempt to capture moments of vulnerability, resilience, and quiet introspection that resonate beyond a single perspective.

Looking forward, I hope my work continues to evolve in both scale and context. It’s important that my work remains grounded in curiosity and exploration. Ultimately, my goal is not simply to produce objects but to cultivate a practice that reflects growth, honesty, and a deep engagement with the world around me.
